CLUB HISTORY
The Tennessee Tubs was founded in 2000 by a group of 356 enthusiasts as an excuse to get out and drive their cars to the nearest Starbucks and then onto the back roads of Tennessee. Club President Nate Greene brought key members of the Porsche community on board including serious collector/enthusiasts and some of the most knowledgeable Porsche mechanics in the country.
Early events included trips to veteran mechanic Jim Watson's garage in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and visits to Cal Turner and Tommy Trabue's garages. The inaugural Tennessee Tubs Bar-b-que was held at Cal Turner's Brush Pines farm in June of 2001. This annual event has remained the centerpiece of the Tubs calendar ever since.
The Tennessee Tubs encourages members to drive their 356s. Among the membership we have Sunday drivers, vintage racers, concours competitors, mechanics - both professional and shade tree, original owners, newbies, and wannabies - those yet to acquire a 356. All are welcome.
