The Fifth Annual Tennessee Tubs Bar-B-Cue took place at Brush Pines Farm in Kingston Springs, Tennessee on May 20, 2006 - a couple of weeks earlier than in past years. This seemed to be a good move as the weather was perfect - sunny and cool.

Activities included a short historical presentation, the Peoples Choice Concours, and Jody's Famous Bar-b-cue lunch.

The historical presentation, "The A,B,Cs of 356 Development" featured early, middle, and late 356s from the garage of event host Cal Turner III including a 1948 Gmünd coupe, a '57 Carrera coupe, and a 64 SC GT.

More than twenty 356s were entered in the People's Choice Concours with engraved plaques and "Made By Hand" dvds going to winners in eight separate categories.

Besides the 356s, there were Porsches of every stripe parked on the grassy knoll adjacent to the main display area. And Cal Turner brought out a Carrera GT - yes, that Carrera GT - which drew just a little bit of interest!

The People's Choice Awards were presented under the shade of the lunch tent as approximately 200 scarfed seconds of barbecued ribs and chicken. Honorary awards went to Porsche racer and mechanic Jim Watson for his lifetime of service to Porsche owners, and to Chef Jody for "Best Barbecue" and for his tireless work in preparing the event grounds. See you next year.
